APIs, Support & Modernisation

Build the integrations. Run the systems. Improve them over time.

One team for the APIs that connect your business, the operations that keep it online, and the modernisation work that stops it ageing.

  • Design contracts and schemas before code, so integrations stay predictable.
  • Inherit existing systems through a structured audit and handover, never a guess.
  • Fix the highest risk gaps first: backups, alerts, access, then everything else.

Same day reply on working days. No obligation, no sales pitch. You speak to an engineer who does the work.

Working software every two weeks

What you get

Deliverables

  • REST or GraphQL services with an OpenAPI or SDL spec
  • Auth, rate limiting and generated client SDKs
  • Monitoring, alerting and on call runbooks
  • Patch, dependency and upgrade cadence

  • Performance profiling, refactors and database optimisation
  • Monthly uptime, SLA and before or after metric reporting

Typical investment

What work like this usually costs

Ranges, not quotes. We give you a firm figure in writing after the call, once we both know the scope.

Focused build

R80k to R250k

One clear outcome, four to eight weeks. An integration, a portal, an automation.

Full platform

R250k to R900k

A system your business runs on, delivered in two week cycles over three to six months.

Ongoing support

From R10k a month

We keep it running and keep improving it, with a named team and agreed response times.

The problem

What we're solving

Integrations get written once and never documented. Maintenance falls between the cracks because the build team moved on. Modernisation never starts because nobody can spare the roadmap. Splitting that work across three vendors is how systems rot quietly. We take all three, so the people who build your integrations are the people watching them at 2am and the people improving them next quarter.

Our approach

How we deliver

  • Design contracts and schemas before code, so integrations stay predictable.
  • Inherit existing systems through a structured audit and handover, never a guess.
  • Fix the highest risk gaps first: backups, alerts, access, then everything else.
  • Sequence modernisation by risk and return, shipped behind flags alongside feature work.

Process

From kickoff to delivery

  1. 01

    Audit

Inventory of services, integrations, dependencies, risks and runbooks.

  2. 02

    Stabilise

Close the highest risk gaps and get real visibility in place.

  3. 03

    Build

Specs, tests and CI for new APIs and integrations.

  4. 04

    Operate & improve

On call against agreed SLAs, with sequenced modernisation each quarter.

In practice

Use cases

Partner and internal integrations

APIs third parties can ship against without hand holding, documented and versioned.

Taking over an existing system

Structured handover from a previous vendor or a founder who needs on call off their plate.

Modernising without a rewrite

Performance turnarounds, cloud migrations and careful service extraction from a monolith.

FAQ

Common questions

What happens on the free 30 minute call?+

No sales pitch. An engineer who does this work asks about your situation, sketches the likely shape of a solution, and tells you honestly whether we are the right fit. You leave with a clearer plan either way.

What does it cost and how long does it take?+

Most engagements start with a short scoping phase, then run in two week delivery cycles. The typical investment ranges on this page are a good starting point, and you get a written figure with real milestones before you commit to anything.

Can you take over a system somebody else built?+

Yes. Every takeover starts with an audit and a written handover so we inherit cleanly rather than apologise later.

REST or GraphQL?+

Whatever suits the teams consuming it. We pick for the consumers, not for fashion, and we generate SDKs from the spec so they never drift.

What SLAs do you offer?+

Standard is one business hour response and four business hour resolution for a P1, tuned per system. We report against it monthly.

Should we rewrite?+

Almost never. We will say so honestly when a rewrite is the right call, but sequenced improvement behind feature flags is usually safer and faster.

Can you work alongside our internal engineers?+

Yes. Most support and modernisation work is co delivered, with knowledge transfer and updated documentation as part of the deal.

How do we measure progress?+

We agree the metrics up front such as latency, error rate, uptime and MTTR, then report on them every month.

Three jobs, one team

Build, run and improve

What we build

REST and GraphQL services, third party integrations, auth, webhooks and developer documentation, specified before a line of code is written.

What we run

Monitoring, patching, backups, incident response and on call cover, with written post mortems and monthly uptime reporting against agreed SLAs.

What we improve

Performance work, refactors behind feature flags, database optimisation, platform upgrades and cloud migrations, sequenced by risk and impact.
